Theatre of Peace Casting Call: Ages 11-20
Seeking Dramatic Actors/Actresses (Any Gender)
Specifically Seeking POC & Black Lives Matter Peaceful Youth Activists
Pre-COVID-19, Theatre of Peace, a division of 501(c)(3) nonprofit Act Like You Matter, ran student-led, solution-driven, anti-bullying Assemblies and Workshops at K-12 schools in San Diego County and LA County. We performed vignettes that demonstrated tools students can use immediately to overcome and combat bullying and build resilience.
As we all know, things have changed! For the foreseeable future, we anticipate (1) Creating video versions of our programs and (2) Creating new content to address many issues surrounding equality and ending racism and discrimination, particularly Black Lives Matter and LGBTQ+ rights. All rehearsals will be virtual until we get past COVID-19.
The ideal candidate for our troupe is someone who wants to make a difference in the lives of their peers and change the world for the better. A stipend will be paid for performances, but please do not submit if your primary goal is being paid! Our troupe is comprised of actors who value the cause more than the paycheck. submission Requirements:
- Seeking actors/actresses of any gender: ages 11 – 20
- Particularly seeking POC and Black Lives Matter peaceful youth activists: ages 11 – 20
- Personal experience with bullying, microaggression, racism, discrimination, etc. is of value
- Willingness to work together as a team & value all members of the troupe
- Post- COVID-19: Able to attend at least 1 rehearsal per month in Carmel Valley (92130)
Submit HEADSHOT, RESUME, & VIDEO AUDITION VIA EMAIL. Please include these in your video:

- Perform a 1-2 minute dramatic monologue: either previously published or original work
- Talk to us about you. Feel free to include anything that makes you … you.
- Tell us about your experience with being a member of a team
- Tell us why you want to join the Troupe
- Most importantly, please be yourself! We are a diverse team made up of unique individuals. We want to see the real YOU in the video 🙂
